Story

Mirian Agnes Culpitt: 3 May 1939 - 24 April 2020

Our beautiful mum had made it clear in her will that she wanted any donations and more to go to Mary Potter Hospice instead of flowers etc in memory of her.

The Hospice took lovely care of mum when she needed it and mum spent the last week of her life at home, supported and cared for by her son Nick, as well as the palliative care team from the Hospice supporting both of them.

Mum will be missed by all of her immediate and extended family:  Ginny, Jeremy, Rosie, Mila, Elijah, Martyn, Jess, Caleb, Asher, Nick, Bruno, Emma, Alex, Imogen, Aaron, Ben, Sophia, Bill & Jess and her beautiful black and white cat Marigold.

She had a wonderful circle of friends who made her life full and for that we are forever thankful.

Thank you for donating on her behalf to help support the hospice do what they do best.

The Mary Potter Hospice Foundation

We are here to provide the highest quality specialist palliative care service we can to people living with a terminal illness and to give their families any support they may need.

The care we provide acknowledges the uniqueness of each person and we strive to work in partnership to meet patient and family needs according to their cultural and spiritual upbringing.

The Hospice has an 12-bed Inpatient Unit in Wellington and Community Palliative Care bases in Wellington, Paraparaumu and Porirua. We also provide care and support to people and their families in their own homes.

On a day-to-day basis, the Hospice will work closely with you, your General Practitioner (GP) and other health professionals to provide your care and support. Along with our inpatient and community care, the Hospice provides Occupational Therapy, Social Work and Counselling and Spiritual Care services.

The Hospice also employs Education, Quality Improvement, Administration, Fundraising and Research staff, and relies on the assistance of many Volunteers who donate their time and energy to assist in many aspects of Hospice services.
